SYLK is a natural lubricant for the alleviation of atrophic vaginitis.

SYLK is the only natural lubricant available on NHS prescription and used within NHS Hospitals.  SYLK is the lubricant of choice of many leading medical organisations including NFGON & Relate.

SYLK is categorised as a class 1 medical device and comprises the following ingredients:

  • Purified water
  • Kiwi fruit plant extract
  • Citrus seed extract
  • Xanthan plant extract
  • Vegetable Glycerine
  • Citric acid
  • Potassium sorbate
  • Sodium citrate

SYLK has passed cytotoxicity, sensitisation and product stability tests.  It has also passed condom compatability and strength tests, as well as genetic and systemic toxicological tests.

The ph of SYLK is controlled within 4.5 to 4.7 to equate with the vaginal environment.

SYLK is available in one 40ml size.  This is sufficient for 75-150 applications, according to personal preference.

Contraindications: none                                           Application: topical

"In our professional experience of using these products we have found that a 42g tube of KY lubricant lasts about 1 month, whereas a 40g bottle of SYLK lasts about 8 months.  This makes SYLK more economical compared with other lubricants. Each application of KY Jelly uses about 5 grams compared with about ½ gram per application for SYLK".

"In addition it is a better product in terms of ease of use, effectiveness to control symptoms and patient and partner comfort".

Runs a nurse-led clinic for women receiving pelvic radiotherapy at the University Hospital NHS Trust Birmingham, approximately 20 women are seen each week and advised to use SYLK.

"All the clients who try your product say how excellent is is - far superior to  other forms of lubricant on the market - and a real aid to improved sexual functioning".
